I am unsure of the history of this soybean. I believe it is from Japan and looks very similar to a variety named “Sakamotowase” from Hokkaido. Unlike that early and compact variety, the Green with Black Eyelash is very tall with some plants reaching over 4 foot in height and it was late maturing (over 130 days). The seed quality was good and I would expect this to be a heavy yielder in regions with a longer growing season. I was able to harvest mature pods up until our first freeze, at which point nearly 1/2 the pods (green stage) were still on the plant and did not mature.
