This is another barley variety I obtained from Estonia in 2017 via a seed exchange. This is a spring planted, 6 row, hulled variety that is classified as a “local population”. I am not sure of its history prior to its inclusion in the USDA in the mid 1970’s. This variety is fairly dwarf in stature reaching 2 1/2 foot in height. Toomas had no lodging issues during periods of heavy rainfall.
